Team Lead / Senior ICT Systems Administrator
Not your average ICT role
You’ll become the founder’s right hand and the link between technology, clients and team. You’ll lead colleagues through migrations and implementations, step in yourself when needed and ensure projects run smoothly and on schedule.
You’ll mentor interns and freelancers, maintain quality and structure and identify client opportunities — either handling them yourself or passing them to sales. This is how you help drive YourData Network’s commercial growth.
You combine technical oversight with leadership, organisational ability and entrepreneurial thinking. As you take on more responsibility, this role evolves into a full management position within the company.
What will you do?
- Lead colleagues, freelancers and interns through client migrations and implementations
- Plan and coordinate technical projects and track their progress
- Maintain an overview of multiple clients and active projects simultaneously
- Coach and guide junior engineers and interns in their daily work
- Identify commercial opportunities with clients and route them to sales
- Build structure into processes and ensure proper documentation and knowledge retention
- Monitor billable hours, efficiency and costs
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for an experienced systems administrator or infrastructure specialist who leads naturally — someone who keeps oversight across multiple clients and projects, builds their team and stays calm under pressure.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s level thinking and working
- At least 5 years of experience in ICT systems administration, infrastructure or cloud
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a team
- Experience managing technical implementations and client migrations
- Experience mentoring colleagues, interns or junior engineers
- Driver’s licence (B)
Technical knowledge
- Linux server administration
- Cloud and infrastructure environments, workplace management (e.g. Nextcloud or Microsoft 365)
- Networking, VPNs, routing and firewalls
- Monitoring, troubleshooting and backup/recovery procedures
- Security and hardening
Leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of colleagues, freelancers and interns
- Planning and coordinating client migrations and implementations
- Identifying and pursuing sales opportunities
- Building structure into a growing organisation
Personal qualities
- Natural leadership and a hands-on attitude
- Commercial instinct combined with a sense of ownership
- Strong communicator, including with clients
- Solution-oriented and calm under pressure
Nice to have
- Affinity with open source software and digital sovereignty
- Experience with Nextcloud, Grommunio or comparable open source workplace solutions
- Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerisation, infrastructure-as-code)
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ambition to grow into a management position
